We are thrilled to announce that we’re heading into the homestretch on New Frontiers. With your help and feedback, we will launch on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 22.

The servers will be taken down at 7:00 AM EDT, and we expect them to return at approximately 2:00 PM EDT. I wish the downtime could be shorter, but it will take a fair amount of time to configure all of the servers. We need to remove the old zones, and load in the new, among many other tasks. Major surgery is never quick.

May I recommend using the time to plan your new specialization template? There have been big changes to the Realm Ability system. We've just uploaded the most recently updated chart of the different abilities and their costs here: Realm Ability Chart. We’ll be stripping out your RA points and providing each character with a free realm ability respec. We’ll also be giving a full skill respec to every character with one realm point or more. Please see the recent post on the Herald for more information about these respecs.

All of our documentation will be posted on Monday, when the Realm Versus Realm section of the Camelot Herald is relaunched with much fanfare and waving of arms.

You’ll need to have the free expansion downloaded and installed before you can head to the New Frontiers. We strongly recommend not waiting until launch day to get this download – thousands of players have the potential to create quite a logjam, so download early, ahead of the crowd! You can find a number of download options here: Free Downloads.

Don’t forget, you must at least have the Shrouded Isles game engine or better in order to experience New Frontiers. If you don’t want to get the retail expansions at this time, you can get the Shrouded Isles engine (with no Shrouded Isles content) for free. Just get the seven day free trial version of the game from Fileplanet, and log in with your existing account.

One frequently asked question – will we be offering the expansion on CD, for users who won’t be able to download so many free files? The answer is yes, we’ll be offering the expansion on CD at no profit to us through the Mythic Store. More information on that will be posted as soon as I have it.

This is a busy week for us as we make the final adjustments to New Frontiers. We really appreciate all the testers and team leads working with us to put the shine on – and we look forward to everyone enjoying the results next week!
